The Pittsburgh Steelers have recently appointed former Atlanta Falcons head coach and Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith as their offensive coordinator. However, their efforts to strengthen the offensive staff are not yet complete. The Steelers are scheduled to conduct interviews with several position coaches from different teams, signaling their commitment to enhancing their offensive capabilities.
Among the candidates set to meet with the team are Tom Arth, a passing game specialist from the Los Angeles Chargers; Charles London, quarterbacks coach from the Tennessee Titans; and Zach Azzani, wide receivers coach from the New York Jets. This move aligns with the Steelers’ apparent intention to evolve into a more progressive passing offense. Expanding the coaching staff with a pass-game coordinator would emphasize their commitment to this direction.
Tom Arth served as the head coach at Akron from 2019 to 2021 before joining the Chargers in 2022. Charles London worked alongside Arthur Smith in Atlanta from 2021 to 2022 as the quarterbacks coach before joining the Tennessee Titans’ staff in 2023. Zach Azzani has been a wide receivers coach since 2015 and also served as the pass game coordinator with the Titans. He has had coaching stints with the Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and most recently, the New York Jets in 2023.
