Patrick Mahomes’ father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., was arrested in Tyler, Texas, on Saturday and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), according to online jail records. Mahomes Sr. was released on $10,000 bond, as indicated by the records.
The Kansas City Star reported that court records revealed Mahomes Sr. had previously pleaded guilty to a DWI charge in 2018, resulting in a 40-day jail sentence. Under state law, the third-degree felony of DWI could lead to a sentence of up to 10 years in prison for Mahomes Sr. It’s notable that Mahomes Sr. had a successful 11-season career as a pitcher in Major League Baseball. The Kansas City Chiefs are set to face the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas next Sunday.
