BHP Star Marquise Henderson Signs with Clemson Tigers

Belton, S.C. – Marquise Henderson, one of South Carolina’s top high school football talents, has committed to Clemson University as an athlete during early signing day. The Belton-Honea Path standout is staying close to home after a record-breaking high school career.

Henderson has been a dominant force as a running back, amassing nearly 8,000 all-purpose yards over 47 career games. Before early signing day, he averaged an impressive 11 yards per carry, totaling 6,369 rushing yards on 577 carries. His high school season continues this week, as BHP competes for a spot in the South Carolina high school state championship.

A unanimous four-star recruit, Henderson has earned national recognition. On3 ranks him as the 164th overall player, ninth-best at his position, and third-best in South Carolina. 247Sports places him at No. 211 nationally, 12th at his position, and fourth in the state. ESPN similarly ranks him as the No. 211 overall player, 13th-best at his position, and fifth in South Carolina.

Henderson will join the majority of Clemson’s 2024 signing class, with 13 of 15 players set to enroll on campus for the spring semester.
