The Buffalo Bills are reportedly considering one last trade for a defensive tackle before the trade deadline. With the 4 PM EST deadline looming, teams will soon be locked in with their current rosters for the second half of the season. Bills general manager Brandon Beane, known for his proactive approach to roster improvements, could make a final move, especially with the team sitting at 7-2 atop the AFC East.
Beane recently traded for wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns, who made an immediate impact in Week 7. Last year, he made a successful last-minute trade to bring in cornerback Rasul Douglas from the Green Bay Packers, who quickly became a key player in the Bills’ secondary.
As the deadline approaches, there’s speculation around potential league-wide moves, and the Bills may join in to bolster their already strong roster. The Bleacher Report NFL Scouting Department, led by Alex Ballentine, identified trade targets for each team, suggesting the Bills should pursue defensive help.
Buffalo could benefit from acquiring defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day from the Tennessee Titans. The Bills have been vulnerable to the run, allowing nearly 5 yards per carry, and Joseph-Day could help strengthen their run defense. The Titans, who recently traded DeAndre Hopkins and Ernest Jones IV, might be willing to part with Joseph-Day in exchange for draft picks as they rebuild.
This addition would address a major weakness in Buffalo’s defense, which has given up over 120 rushing yards in five of their nine games, including a staggering 271 yards against the Ravens. With DeWayne Carter and Duwuane Smoot both on injured reserve, Joseph-Day would be a valuable asset to fortify the defensive line.
