Buffalo Bills Face Multiple Injuries and Von Miller Suspension Ahead of Week 8

During Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans, three key Buffalo Bills players—defensive leader Terrel Bernard, linebacker Dorian Williams, and wide receiver Curtis Samuel—sustained injuries that prevented them from returning to the game. Bernard left twice, first in the second quarter for a head injury evaluation that showed no serious issues, and then in the third quarter after an ankle injury caused by a Titans player accidentally stepping on him. Williams injured his knee in the second half and, though initially listed as probable to return, remained sidelined for the rest of the game. Samuel exited in the first quarter after a hard hit resulted in a shoulder injury.

Head Coach Sean McDermott commented that the severity of the injuries was still being assessed, saying they needed more time before making decisions on player returns. Early evaluations indicate that none of the injuries appear long-term, and the possibility remains for Bernard, Williams, and Samuel to return for Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks, with Williams expected to have the best chance at playing.

Meanwhile, edge rusher Von Miller will miss Week 8 due to a four-game suspension related to an incident from November 2023. Although details remain unclear, the suspension is tied to Miller’s arrest for third-degree assault amid domestic violence allegations, which he denies. Miller is expected to return to the team after October 2 but will not be available for the upcoming game against the Seahawks, which is scheduled for 4:05 p.m. in Seattle and will air on FOX.
