Injury Update: Atlanta Falcons Has Welcome Back Veteran Key Players Back In Practice

Key Players on the Rise in Atlanta Falcons Injury Report

The Atlanta Falcons are welcoming back some important players to practice as they prepare for their matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The team has released its initial injury report ahead of Sunday’s game.

Positive updates have emerged regarding left guard Matthew Bergeron, who fully participated in Wednesday’s practice after leaving last Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks in the third quarter due to a neck injury. He has passed concussion protocols and was fully cleared for practice.

In contrast, center Ryan Neuzil, stepping in for the injured Drew Dalman, did not participate on Wednesday due to a knee injury he sustained during the Seahawks game. Neuzil missed only five snaps but finished the game. Additionally, five players were listed as limited participants, although one—outside linebacker Matt Judon—was given a rest day.

The other four limited players include inside linebacker Troy Andersen (knee), safety Justin Simmons (hamstring), defensive back Antonio Hamilton Sr. (knee), and inside linebacker Nate Landman (shoulder). Simmons was active last week, while Hamilton did not play. Landman, who has been sidelined for four games due to calf and quad issues, is now facing a new injury.

On a positive note, Andersen appears to be improving. He returned to practice on October 18 after suffering a knee injury against the New Orleans Saints on September 28. He participated in individual drills on Wednesday and remains questionable for the game, as stated by head coach Raheem Morris.

“We’ll see how he progresses moving forward,” Morris said. “It’s really about following the guidance of doctors and the medical team, observing how he looks and moves, and potentially getting him back to play.”

Andersen was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Saints before his injury sidelined him. He has missed the last three games, and his return would significantly bolster a struggling Falcons defense.

The Falcons (4-3) will practice again on Thursday ahead of their 1 p.m. game against the Buccaneers (4-3) at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday.
