The Buffalo Bills experienced a significant setback at linebacker when Matt Milano was sidelined with an injury during training camp. However, a recent report suggests that the Bills might address this issue before the upcoming NFL trade deadline.
Pro Football Focus writer Bradley Locker proposed a “fairytale trade,” suggesting that the Bills could pursue Cleveland Browns linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah. After previously acquiring wide receiver Amari Cooper from the Browns, Locker speculates that Buffalo might make another trade to bolster its defense with the Pro Bowl linebacker.
Locker emphasized that Owusu-Koramoah, 25, has developed into a standout linebacker, earning the fourth-highest PFF grade (86.6) among linebackers with over 100 snaps this season. His 92.4 run defense grade is also a career-best. Given the Bills’ struggles at linebacker—where they rank 28th overall following Milano’s absence—Locker believes they could benefit from Owusu-Koramoah’s presence.
The Bills have faced injuries across their linebacking group, with Terrel Bernard suffering an ankle injury during their recent win over the Tennessee Titans. While Bernard’s injury was considered day-to-day, it adds to the team’s challenges at the position.
The Bills have already made a notable move by trading for Cooper, and general manager Brandon Beane has indicated that the team remains active and willing to make further trades. Beane emphasized that the team is still fully committed to winning, and they may continue to explore moves to strengthen their roster before the trade deadline.
