BREAKING NEWS: Huge boost as Falcons signs perfert replacement for injued S Micah Abernathy.

The Falcons have added offensive lineman Matt Hennessy to their active roster, as announced on Tuesday, filling the spot left by safety Micah Abernathy, who was placed on injured reserve due to a left knee injury. Abernathy was injured after playing three special teams snaps.

Hennessy, who spent the 2024 offseason with the Eagles before joining Atlanta’s practice squad on September 24, has not played in a regular-season game since 2022 due to a knee injury but was elevated for two games as a reserve. Drafted by the Falcons in the third round in 2020, Hennessy has appeared in 41 games, starting 22, including all 17 games at center in 2021.

The Falcons also signed safety Dane Cruikshank and offensive lineman Coy Cronk to their practice squad. Cruikshank, a 2018 fifth-round pick by the Titans, has played in 55 games with four starts, contributing 42 tackles, two passes defensed, one interception, and 24 special teams tackles. Cronk, who was with the Jaguars in 2022, joins the Falcons after a stint on the Vikings’ practice squad.
