2025 Four-Star QB Blake Hebert Flips Commitment to Notre Dame from Clemson
Class of 2025 four-star quarterback Blake Hebert has switched his commitment from Clemson to Notre Dame, announcing the decision on social media Monday evening.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Hebert expressed gratitude to the Clemson coaching staff and program before revealing his decommitment: “I’d like to start by thanking the Clemson coaching staff as well as the program itself for all they have done for me… With that being said, I have chosen to withdraw my commitment and will spend my next 4 years at another institution. Romans 8:18.” Moments later, he posted a graphic confirming his commitment to the Fighting Irish, accompanied by the caption, “HERE COME THE IRISH!☘️ #THINKBIG #committed.”
Hebert, a standout from Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut, originally committed to Clemson in June 2023. Notre Dame, after losing their previous 2025 quarterback pledge Deuce Knight to Auburn on October 2, needed a replacement ahead of the early signing period in December. Hebert is now that replacement.

Two of Hebert’s high school teammates, four-star offensive tackle Matty Augustine and four-star safety Ethan Long, are also committed to Notre Dame. Hebert is ranked as the No. 3 prospect in Connecticut and the No. 17 pro-style quarterback in the 2025 class. He also held offers from several other schools, including Boston College, Iowa, Penn State, and Virginia Tech.
With Hebert’s commitment, Notre Dame’s 2025 class now has 23 commitments and ranks 13th nationally. Clemson’s 2025 class, now down to 13 commitments, ranks 31st.
