Report: Hawks look into trading away three veterans Players

The Atlanta Hawks, despite high expectations with coach Quin Snyder, are contemplating trades as the deadline approaches. While rumors swirl around star players Trae Young and Dejounte Murray, several veterans, including Bogdan Bogdanovic, De’Andre Hunter, and Clint Capela, have attracted interest from contending teams.

One potential trade involves sending Bogdan Bogdanovic to the Timberwolves in exchange for Kyle Anderson, Leonard Miller, Josh Minott, and five second-round picks. The Timberwolves, looking to bolster their roster before facing increasing player salary costs, see Bogdanovic as a valuable addition with his sharpshooting skills. The Hawks, in return, get two promising youngsters in Miller and Minott, a playmaker in Anderson, and valuable draft assets.

Another trade proposal sees the Hawks addressing the Pacers’ need for a 3-and-D forward by sending De’Andre Hunter in exchange for Buddy Hield and three second-round picks. The Pacers, already strengthened by acquiring Pascal Siakam, aim to upgrade their wing position. While Hunter provides defensive reliability, his potential contract concerns might make the trade favorable for the Hawks, who receive Hield’s expiring contract, allowing them cap flexibility for future moves.

Lastly, the Hawks explore a trade with the Mavericks, sending Clint Capela to Dallas in exchange for Richaun Holmes, Olivier Maxence-Prosper, and one second-round pick. The Mavericks, already solid with Dereck Lively II at center, see Capela as a valuable addition to complement Luka Doncic. For the Hawks, this trade presents an opportunity to unleash Onyeka Okongwu as the starting center and take a chance on the potential of O-Max, a raw 3-and-D wing.

As the trade deadline approaches, the Hawks are evaluating these options to reshape their roster and build for the future, considering valuable assets and cap flexibility in the process.
