Former Lions Pro Bowl quarterback Greg Landry, who later became an assistant coach, has passed away at the age of 77, the Detroit Lions announced on social media. No cause of death was provided. Landry, a standout for the Lions in the 1970s, played 14 NFL seasons from 1968 to 1981, with his first 11 years in
 Detroit and three with the Baltimore Colts. He earned a Pro Bowl selection in 1971 after a strong season, throwing for 2,237 yards and 16 touchdowns. Landry later played in the USFL and briefly returned to the NFL before retiring in 1984. His post-playing career included coaching roles with the Cleveland Browns, Chicago Bears, University of Illinois, and the Lions.
