Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers are sticking with Justin Fields as their starting quarterback, even as Wilson recovers from a calf injury. With the Steelers currently 3-1, Fields is earning the trust of his teammates, coaches, and the fanbase, making it unlikely that Wilson would replace him. This situation has led to calls for the Dolphins, who are struggling offensively, to trade for Wilson. Green Bay Packers legend James Jones is the latest to suggest the move.

Although no formal talks have occurred between the two teams, the Dolphins are currently relying on Tyler “Snoop” Huntley as their starter. After a poor performance in a Monday Night Football loss to the Tennessee Titans, there is speculation that trade discussions for Wilson could begin soon. Huntley is Miami’s third-string quarterback, following injuries to both Tua Tagovailoa and backup Skylar Thompson.
Despite their current situation, the Dolphins are hopeful Tagovailoa will return this season, which could lessen the urgency for a trade. However, if Tagovailoa is unable to return, Miami may seriously consider pursuing Wilson. Still, completing a trade for Wilson may be more complicated than it appears.
