Good News: Another Veteran Edge Rusher Confirm A Deal With Ravens

The Ravens have signed veteran edge rusher to their practice squad, bringing back a familiar face to strengthen their pass rush. Ngakoue, 29, remained unsigned throughout the offseason and into the first three weeks of the 2024 season. He played 13 games for the Chicago Bears in 2023, recording four sacks, six tackles for loss, and seven quarterback hits.

This marks Ngakoue’s sixth team change in five years, having previously played for Jacksonville, Minnesota, Baltimore, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, and Chicago. His last stint with the Ravens in 2020 lasted nine games, where he notched three sacks after being traded midseason from the Vikings.

Yannick Ngakoue Feels Ready to Help Ravens Immediately

Ngakoue joins a Ravens defense that ranks 17th in sack rate and 32nd in passing yards allowed per game (291.7). Earlier this year, he expressed a desire to re-establish himself as one of the league’s top pass rushers and was waiting for the right opportunity, which he appears to have found in Baltimore.

It’s uncertain whether Ngakoue will make his debut for the 1-2 Ravens this week when they face the 3-0 Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football on Sept. 29.
