This December, a Syracuse basketball commit and several top recruits will compete in the City of Palms Classic, an elite high school basketball event in Florida. The annual showcase, held from December 18 to December 23 in Fort Myers, Fla., attracts nationally ranked teams and some of the best high school prospects across various recruiting classes.
The 2024 event will feature multiple teams with strong ties to Syracuse basketball. Among the squads to watch are Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, N.Y., IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., and Westminster Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Long Island Lutheran and IMG are expected to be preseason top-10 teams, while Sidwell Friends and Westminster could rank in the preseason top 25.
As usual, per top analyst/scout @Samad_Hines, a loaded field for this showcase. IMG – Sadiq White Jr. LuHi – Kiyan Anthony. Westminister – Alex Constanza. Sidwell Friends – Acaden Lewis. Love it. 🧡🔽 https://t.co/WiHE3cb27J

One key player to follow is Kiyan Anthony, a 2025 four-star shooting guard and top-30 national prospect from Long Island Lutheran. Syracuse offered Anthony a scholarship in November 2022, and he visited the campus last October. He recently included Syracuse in his top six schools.
Sadiq White Jr., a 2025 five-star forward and top-20 national prospect, has transferred to IMG for his senior year. White verbally committed to Syracuse in May and has made two unofficial visits to the program.

At Sidwell Friends, 2025 four-star guard and top-40 national prospect Acaden Lewis is another target for Syracuse. He was offered a scholarship in April and visited the campus in August. Lewis has Syracuse in his top eight and may make an official visit in the future.
Westminster Academy’s standout is Alex Constanza, a 2026 five-star guard/small forward and top-five national prospect. Constanza had an All-American sophomore season in 2023-24. Syracuse offered him a scholarship in January, and he is expected to take an official visit to the school this fall.
In addition to the City of Palms Classic, several of these teams are also set to participate in the Spalding Hoophall Classic in January 2025, another premier high school basketball event held in Springfield, Mass.
