SAD NEWS: Kalen DeBoer makes another disapointing decision for 4-star LB.

Alabama football has lost a four-star linebacker to Tennessee. Leading a historic program like Alabama comes with its challenges, one of which is securing player commitments. Kalen DeBoer, who successfully turned Washington into a winning team last winter, has yet to replicate that success with the Crimson Tide. This allowed Josh Heupel and the Tennessee football program to swoop in and flip Jaedon Harmon, a promising linebacker. Harmon’s decommitment leaves Alabama without a potential star or added depth at the linebacker position. Instead, the four-star talent has chosen Tennessee as his new home, and Heupel and his staff are thrilled to welcome him.

Harmon announced his decision with a message of gratitude toward Alabama, saying, “I want to thank the entire Alabama staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play for a great program! Respect my Decision,” on X, formerly Twitter.

With this move, Tennessee has secured the 18th-best linebacker in the nation and Heupel’s 23rd commitment for the Volunteers’ 2025 class. This could potentially lead to a top-five recruitment class in college football.

As for Alabama, Kalen DeBoer’s squad is losing a significant defensive talent, but they still have solid commitments from players like Luke Metz, Duke Johnson, and Abduall Sanders Jr., who appear firmly committed to the Crimson Tide. Missing out on Harmon allows Alabama to refocus its recruitment efforts, particularly on Ty Jackson, the biggest target left for their 2025 class. Despite the setback, Alabama still holds the second-best recruitment class in college football, and moving forward is key.
