BREAKING: Just In Celtics Sign Rutgers Star to Training Camp Contract

The Celtics have signed former Rutgers star Ron Harper Jr. to a training camp contract. During the Celtics’ first Summer League game in Las Vegas, despite losing to the Heat 114-109, there were several positive takeaways, including Baylor Scheierman’s impressive performance once he hit his stride.

While the Celtics’ first-round draft pick has a guaranteed contract, Harper Jr., who is fighting for a place in the league, will join the team at training camp in Boston. According to Keith Smith of Spotrac, Harper Jr. signed a non-guaranteed training camp deal. In the Summer League game against Miami, he scored two points and recorded a block in 10 minutes and 5 seconds of play. Previously, he was on a two-way contract with the Raptors but was waived after an injury in December.
