Done Deal: Washington Huskies adds commitment from Rivals Top Experience Player

Washington Adds Commitment from Local Kennedy Catholic Offensive Lineman

On July 4th, Washington secured a commitment from local three-star offensive lineman Lowen Colman-Brusa of Kennedy Catholic High School, marking their 20th pledge for the 2025 recruiting cycle. Almost two months prior, Washington received its fifth commitment for the cycle. Colman-Brusa, a Burien native, stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 285 pounds. According to 247Sports composite rankings, he is the No. 7 player in the state and the No. 80 offensive tackle in the country. He chose Washington over offers from Duke, Montana, and Portland State.

Colman-Brusa’s brother, Derek Colman-Brusa, is a four-star edge rusher at Kennedy Catholic and the top player in the state for the 2026 recruiting cycle. Derek, considered one of the best edge rushers on the west coast, is currently ranked No. 156 nationally and is predicted to commit to Washington. He holds offers from BYU, California, Duke, Ohio State, Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, USC, and Washington State, among others.

Lowen Colman-Brusa is the fifth in-state player to commit to the Huskies. Washington’s 2025 recruiting class includes four-star linebacker Zaydrius Rainey-Sale from Bethel High School in Spanaway, four-star athlete Jonathan Epperson Jr. from Auburn Riverside High School, three-star athlete D’Aryhian Clemons from Spanaway Lake High School (the No. 6 player in the state), and three-star edge rusher Victor Sanchez Hernandez Jr. from Kamiak High School in Mukilteo. If all five sign, it will be the most local players in one cycle since Jimmy Lake’s 2021 recruiting class.

That class included Kennedy Catholic quarterback Sam Huard, O’Dea High School offensive lineman Owen Prentice, Kennedy Catholic wide receiver Jabez Tinae, Eatonville High School fullback Caden Jumper, Bethel’s Will Latu, and Renton High School defensive lineman Siaosi Finau. Huard transferred to Utah after spending the 2023 season with Cal Poly. Jumper now plays for Murray State, while Latu left the program before UW’s first game in 2021. Prentice, Tinae, and Finau all departed in 2023.

Woof: Washington Huskies Land Local Offensive Lineman Lowen Colman-Brusa to Add to Recruiting Haul - UW Dawg Pound

Colman-Brusa is the third offensive lineman to commit to Washington under offensive coordinator and offensive line coach Brennan Carroll. Other commits include Jake Flores, a 6-foot-6, 275-pound three-star lineman from JSerra Catholic in Southern California, and four-star lineman Champ Taulealea, who committed on June 13. Washington currently has 14 scholarship offensive linemen on its roster, having added junior college tackle Maximus McCree, former Ohio State guard Enokk Vimahi, and Portland State standout and former Eastside Catholic High School star D’Angalo Titialii. These newcomers join a group that had only seven active scholarship players during spring practice, as junior Gaard Memmelaar and sophomore Landen Hatchett recovered from injuries. True freshmen Davit Boyajyan and Justin Hylkema will also contribute to the depth.
