NBA Jersey Numbers Revealed for Latest Kentucky Draftees
The jersey numbers for former Kentucky stars Reed Sheppard, Rob Dillingham, and Antonio Reeves have been revealed. These players, the last from the John Calipari era at Kentucky, are poised to make their mark in the NBA.
On Tuesday, their official jersey numbers were finalized:
- Reed Sheppard, drafted 3rd overall by the Houston Rockets, will wear No. 15, the same number he wore with the Wildcats. He joins a young core featuring Jalen Green, Fred VanVleet, Amen Thompson, Dillon Brooks, and others. Sheppard expressed his excitement, saying, “They have a really good thing going in Houston. The coach is really good… They have a bunch of really young, athletic guys, and we’ll be able to play fast. It’s going to be fun.”
- Rob Dillingham, selected 8th overall, will wear No. 4 with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Initially drafted by the San Antonio Spurs, he was immediately traded to Minnesota. Dillingham, an explosive guard, is expected to play a significant role from day one. He expressed his gratitude, saying, “Playing with Anthony Edwards and the whole Timberwolves… It’s really just a blessing because I get to learn from a lot of players and veterans.”
- Antonio Reeves, a second-round pick, will wear No. 12, the same number he wore in college, with the New Orleans Pelicans. Pelicans GM Bryson Graham praised Reeves as a “big-time shooter, playmaker… a marksman.”
Additionally, Tre Mitchell and Justin Edwards, other draft-eligible Kentucky players, have signed summer league deals.
