Duke Blue Devils Announce New Head Coach

Durham, NC – June 26, 2024 – The Duke Blue Devils have announced the hiring of a new head coach for their men’s basketball team. Following the retirement of legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski and the departure of Jon Scheyer, Duke has chosen former NBA coach and Duke alum, Shane Battier, to lead the program.

Battier, who played for the Blue Devils from 1997 to 2001 and won the NCAA Championship in 2001, brings a wealth of experience from his successful NBA career and his recent role as an executive with the Miami Heat. Known for his basketball IQ, defensive prowess, and leadership skills, Battier is expected to uphold Duke’s storied tradition of excellence.
