COMMITMENT: WR Ellijah Washington commits to Oregon State
Ellijah Washington, a 5-foot-10, 165-pound athlete from Oakland (Calif.) Castlemont, committed to Oregon State on Sunday morning. After wrapping up his official visit in Corvallis, Washington announced his commitment via social media. Although he is listed as an ATH, he is being recruited as a wide receiver by the Beavers. He had previously narrowed his choices to Oregon State, Cal, and Arizona.
Wideouts coach Kefense Hynson, also from Oakland, has been leading Washington’s recruitment, and their strong relationship has made Oregon State stand out. “My relationship with Coach Fense has been crucial since he’s been recruiting me since my freshman year. Visiting Oregon State, I wanted to see if I could picture myself there.”
The bond between Washington and Hynson is particularly strong. “He was honest and fair in recruiting me and has watched my progression since my freshman year. He understands the wide receiver position very well and breaks it down from a different perspective, which I greatly value as a wide receiver,” Washington said.
