Breaking: Gators superstar decommit from the team

Florida Football: Former Gator Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman Finds New Team for 2024

The rarely utilized receiver entered the transfer portal in December. While most Florida Football players who entered the portal at that time quickly secured spots on new teams for the 2024 season, not everyone was as swift in finding a new team. One former player announced just this past weekend that he has finally secured a new team for the upcoming season.

Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman, who was rarely used during his stint with the Gators, originally came out of high school as a low-level three-star prospect from Minneapolis. He eventually played for Independence Community College, the same college featured on Netflix’s “Last Chance U.” There, Chiaokhiao-Bowman became a top ten JUCO receiver according to 247Sports and committed to Florida before the 2022 season.

During the 2022 season, he recorded three catches against Vanderbilt and two against Oregon State, totaling seven catches mostly from special teams play. Unfortunately, an injury sidelined him for most of the 2023 season, limiting him to just two games with no catches. In December, he announced his departure from the Gators and entered the transfer portal.

After considering options, including an official visit to Ole Miss, Chiaokhiao-Bowman has decided to take his talents to Houston to play for the Rice Owls in the 2024 season.
