Former Hokies defensive lineman Mario Kendricks has signed with the Miami Dolphins. Despite no Virginia Tech players being selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, several found opportunities afterward. Defensive tackle Norell Pollard joined the Washington Commanders, and Pheldarius Payne signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Kendricks, who previously had a tryout with the Kansas City Chiefs, quickly secured a position with the Dolphins. Wide receiver and kick returner Cole Beck also had tryouts with the Falcons and Jets.
Kendricks’ three-year contract will see him heading to training camp with the Dolphins, aiming to secure a spot on the roster. The Dolphins are seeking assistance on the interior defensive line after losing starter Christian Wilkins in free agency.
A former three-star recruit from Osceola High School in Florida, Kendricks played five seasons at Virginia Tech. He appeared in 56 games, starting 20, and recorded 67 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and seven sacks during his college career.
Best of luck to Mario Kendricks
