Former Buffalo Bills safety Micah Hyde discussed his future while in Buffalo for his charity softball event. After seven seasons with the Bills, where he formed a top safety duo with Jordan Poyer, Hyde is currently a free agent. At the NFL Combine in February, Bills GM Brandon Beane acknowledged Hyde’s right to take his time deciding his next move.
“I’m in no hurry,” Hyde said on Thursday. “I’ve been transparent with Beane and Sean. We’re on the same page. At 33, I want to prioritize my health and family, but winning a Super Bowl would be amazing. We’ll see what happens day by day.”
When asked about his plans, Hyde replied, “It’s either the Bills or retirement. I’m not going anywhere else.”
Hyde’s wife, Amanda, previously shared an emotional message emphasizing Buffalo’s special place in their hearts. Hyde’s charity softball game has become a beloved spring event in Western New York, with this year’s game featuring 35 current Bills players, including quarterback Josh Allen, lineman Dion Dawkins, and tight end Dalton Kincaid.
Despite not being on the team, Hyde noted, “The players are excited to come, and the community is as well. It’s a wonderful event we hold every year.” The proceeds from the event benefit Hyde’s Imagine for Youth Foundation, with tickets still available.
