Breaking: UNC Football extends offer to son of former NFL star running back

The UNC football program has extended an offer to Camdin Portis, son of former NFL star Clinton Portis, as they continue to recruit in-state talent for the Class of 2026. Three-star cornerback Camdin Portis, from Charlotte, North Carolina, announced on social media that he received the offer. Camdin is listed at 6-foot, 165-pounds and is ranked as the No. 15 overall prospect in North Carolina for his class by 247Sports. As a sophomore at Myers Park High School, he recorded 18 tackles, 10 pass breakups, 2 interceptions, and a forced fumble.

Camdin’s recruitment has been gaining momentum, with offers from UCLA, Penn State, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Houston, and NC State. His father’s alma mater, Miami, also extended an offer on April 4.

UNC has now offered scholarships to 21 in-state players from the Class of 2026, showcasing their commitment to retaining top local talent. Although early in the recruiting process, UNC is expected to be a strong contender for several talented players from North Carolina in the coming months.
