Good News: Indiana confirms the addition of a superstar for 2024-25 season

Indiana has confirmed the enrollment of Oumar Ballo for the 2024-25 basketball season, making the announcement earlier today. Ballo committed to the Hoosiers on April 16.

Head coach Mike Woodson announced the addition of transfer Oumar Ballo to the Indiana men’s basketball program. Ballo, a two-time All-Pac-12 selection, joins Indiana after spending five seasons at Arizona and Gonzaga.

Standing at 7 feet tall and weighing 260 pounds, Ballo brings significant experience and talent to the Hoosiers. During his time at Arizona, he averaged 11.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game, with notable achievements such as being named to the All-Pac-12 First Team twice and the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team twice. He also earned recognition as the Pac-12 Most Improved Player in 2022-23 and the Pac-12 Sixth Man of the Year in 2021-22.

Ballo began his collegiate career at Gonzaga before transferring to Arizona, where he contributed to the team’s impressive record. He boasts an 84.8% win rate throughout his career.

Before his college years, Ballo excelled internationally, leading Mali to a second-place finish at the 2019 FIBA U19 World Cup and earning recognition as part of the tournament’s All-Star Five.

Coach Woodson expressed excitement about Ballo’s addition to the team, highlighting his dominance in the post, experience at the highest level, and fit within Indiana’s system and league.
