Report: Florida Gators Set to get Visit from Top Transfer Portal OL

The Florida Gators are continuing to strengthen their offensive line with the addition of former USC offensive lineman Enoch Wangoy. Wangoy, initially committed for the Class of 2025, has opted to graduate early and join the Gators’ roster this upcoming summer. However, the Gators aren’t stopping there in their efforts to bolster their offensive line for the 2024 season.

Reports indicate that Florida is actively pursuing Jason Zandamela, the nation’s top offensive interior lineman in the transfer portal. According to Hayes Fawcett of On3, Zandamela, previously with USC, is scheduled to visit UCF before considering the Gators. Fawcett’s report suggests that Zandamela is also finalizing plans for a visit to Florida, which is anticipated to take place either this weekend or early next week.

Ranked as the No. 30 overall prospect and the No. 2 interior lineman in the transfer portal by On3, Zandamela’s potential addition to the Gators’ roster is highly anticipated. 247Sports holds an even higher regard for Zandamela, placing him at No. 7 overall in the portal and as the top interior offensive lineman.

Standing at 6’2.5″ and weighing 285 pounds, Zandamela hails from Clearwater Academy in Clearwater, Florida, making a return to his home state a logical choice. His previous recruitment by Florida, including an offer from the university and interaction with offensive line coach Rob Sale, indicates a prior interest in joining the Gators. According to 247Sports, Zandamela was ranked as the top interior lineman in the country during his high school career at Clearwater Academy.
