Rangers have made a notable presence in Baseball Prospectus’ latest top 101 prospect list for 2024. The highest-ranking Ranger is outfielder Wyatt Langford, securing the #2 spot on the list. Langford, chosen as the fourth overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft from the University of Florida, showcased an impressive performance across various levels, boasting a .360/.480/.677 slash line in 44 games.
Following closely is outfielder Evan Carter, positioned at #4 on the list. Carter, aged 21, spent a significant part of the 2023 season with Frisco and Round Rock. Notably, he delivered a strong performance in September with a .306/.413/.645 slash line in 23 games and continued his success with a .300/.417/.500 line in the postseason.
The list also features 17-year-old shortstop Sebastian Walcott, securing the #75 spot. Walcott’s journey included time in the Dominican Summer League and the Arizona Complex League, concluding the year with four games in Hickory. Throughout these experiences, he posted a .246/.335/.471 slash line in 215 plate appearances.
Additionally, former Ranger prospects find their place in the lower section of the list. Luisangel Acuna, part of the Max Scherzer trade to the New York Mets, claims the #77 position. Thomas Saggese and TK Roby, traded to St. Louis in the Jordan Montgomery trade, secure the #83 and #93 spots, respectively.
