Rams coach Sean McVay shared his thoughts on both quarterbacks, Jared Goff and Matthew Stafford, after the playoff loss to the Lions. Stafford’s return to Detroit, his former team, was a highlight, but Goff’s first face-off against his former team also caught attention. McVay praised Goff for his efficiency and command during the game, expressing happiness for his performance and acknowledging the four years they spent together. Goff completed 22 of 27 passes, accumulating 277 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, McVay spoke highly of Stafford’s outstanding and gritty performance, acknowledging his leadership, guidance, and resilience throughout the season. Despite the loss, McVay credited Stafford for giving the team a chance and emphasized his significant contribution to the successful season. While the Rams’ season exceeded expectations, McVay’s coaching led them to the postseason for the fifth time in seven seasons. As the Rams’ season concludes, the Lions advance, hosting the winner of the Monday night game for a chance to reach the NFC Championship Game for only the second time in franchise history.
