Expressing his enthusiasm for the reunion with Jones, LuaLua stated, “I’ve enjoyed my time working under Nathan a lot.” Having previously been under Jones’ guidance at Brighton and Luton, LuaLua looks forward to working with him again, citing the learning opportunities he has had under Jones. LuaLua expressed eagerness to start his journey with Charlton Athletic, having trained with the team for the past few weeks and expressing excitement to represent the club.

LuaLua, a product of the Newcastle United academy, boasts a wealth of experience from his time at clubs such as Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers. He will wear the number 49 shirt for Charlton Athletic, having recently departed Greek club Levadiakos.

Nathan Jones praised LuaLua’s qualities, describing him as a great player who will enhance the team. Highlighting the need for wide options in the squad, Jones emphasized LuaLua’s suitability for the role. LuaLua’s recent departure from Greece presented an opportune moment for Charlton to secure his services.

LuaLua’s signing follows the pattern of Charlton Athletic bringing in experienced players on short-term deals, following the acquisition of former Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United forward Connor Wickham.
