DeSean Jackson shares his perspective on Joe Flacco as the highly anticipated playoff game day arrives for Cleveland Browns fans. The 11-6 Browns are set to face the 10-7 Houston Texans in the Wild Card round of the 2023-24 NFL playoffs. The matchup is notable for the age contrast between the quarterbacks, with the Texans led by the youngest, CJ Stroud (22), and the Browns guided by the oldest, Joe Flacco (38), showcasing a 16-year age gap, one of the most significant in NFL history. Despite retiring earlier this year, DeSean Jackson, a fellow 2008 draft class alum with Flacco, is inspired by Flacco’s success on the field, playfully considering a comeback to join Flacco for a final hurrah.
Flacco, who joined the Browns midway through the regular season, has made a substantial impact in just five games, amassing 1,616 yards and 13 touchdowns with a 4-1 record as the starter. Although he has thrown eight interceptions, a statistic needing improvement for playoff success, Flacco’s presence has markedly enhanced the team’s offensive performance. Notably, Flacco delivered an outstanding performance against the Texans in Week 16, recording 368 yards and three touchdowns in a decisive victory. However, it’s crucial to note that this win occurred when the Texans were without CJ Stroud. As both teams face off today at NRG Stadium in Houston, the outcome remains uncertain.
