The Las Vegas Raiders have officially announced Antonio Pierce’s coaching staff, marking a significant step in his tenure as the team’s head coach, which began five weeks ago. Pierce, who served as the interim head coach for the final nine games of the 2023 season, has now solidified his team of assistants.
While many of the coaching appointments were previously reported or disclosed, the announcement on Friday confirms the composition of the staff. Notably, there were no unexpected additions to the list of names revealed.
As noted by The Athletic, the coaching staff consists of 31 individuals, making it one of the largest in the NFL. Here are some noteworthy aspects of Pierce’s inaugural staff:
- Scott Turner retains his position as the passing game coordinator.
- Despite reported interviews, former Raiders head coach Hue Jackson, who has connections to Marvin Lewis, is not among the coaching staff.
- DeAndre Pierce and Marcus Lewis, sons of Pierce and Lewis respectively, join the staff.
- Matt Sheldon maintains his role on the coaching staff.
- Deuce Gruden, son of former Raiders coach Jon Gruden, continues his tenure on the strength and conditioning staff, spanning three coaching regimes.
