Virginia Tech Makes Top 5 for Highly-Touted 2026 Offensive Lineman

The college football recruiting cycle for the Class of 2026 is in full gear, with top prospects solidifying their spring visit schedules. Many recruits are planning trips in April during Spring Games, while others are eyeing key visit periods in June.

Virginia Tech has been securing visit dates with several high-priority recruits, including a standout offensive lineman who recently revealed his Top 5 schools. The Hokies made the list, alongside two other ACC programs and two SEC teams.

Virginia Tech Set to Host OL Recruit Tre Aiken in June

Following the dismissal of offensive line coach Ron Crook in December, head coach Brent Pry brought in Matt Moore, a former West Virginia assistant known for developing NFL-caliber linemen. Moore, who took seven weeks to be hired, is well-respected in coaching circles, with multiple former WVU players following him to Virginia Tech.

With a major rebuild ahead, Moore is focused on recruiting top talent, and one of his key targets, Tre Aiken from Clinton, South Carolina, is scheduled to make his official visit from June 12-15. Aiken is also considering Georgia Tech, NC State, Florida, and South Carolina.

Aiken previously visited Virginia Tech last October when the Hokies defeated Georgia Tech 21-6. According to 247Sports, he is also looking to return in April for Virginia Tech’s Spring Game at Lane Stadium.

Currently, Virginia Tech has one commitment in the 2026 class from wide receiver Carnell Warren, but Aiken remains a top priority for Moore and Pry. Given Virginia Tech’s recent recruiting success in South Carolina, the Hokies appear to have a strong chance at landing the 6-foot-3, 286-pound lineman.
