Like 30 other NFL teams, the Buffalo Bills have entered offseason mode after their heartbreaking 32-29 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship. While all eyes are now on the Chiefs’ Super Bowl showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles, Josh Allen is still struggling to move past the defeat.
Buffalo came painfully close to securing its first playoff win over Patrick Mahomes, only to fall short once again—marking their fourth straight postseason loss to Kansas City. Speaking with Rob Maaddi of the Associated Press, Allen admitted the loss still haunts him.
“It sucks,” Allen said. “You sit there thinking about everything you could have done differently. I’m having dreams about certain plays I wish I could take back. There’s no easy way around it. We’re one of 30 teams watching the Super Bowl from home, and that’s tough. I’m going to do everything I can to make sure that doesn’t happen again next season.”
For some, Allen’s inability to defeat Mahomes in the postseason is a blemish on his legacy, raising questions about whether he can ever overcome that hurdle. The Bills have the talent to compete at the highest level—it’s just a matter of believing they can get it done.
As the Chiefs prepare for another Super Bowl, Allen and the Bills are left to figure out how to finally take down the AFC’s top team.
