Florida State has extended an offer to a top-100 prospect currently committed to Auburn. The Seminoles’ coaching staff has been actively recruiting throughout January, traveling nationwide to meet with prospects and hosting visits in Tallahassee as they look to strengthen their roster.
On Friday, FSU offered a scholarship to four-star linebacker Shadarius Toodle, who has been committed to Auburn since July. Toodle shared the news on social media, mentioning head coach Mike Norvell and defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. as key figures in the process. His recruitment remains active, with Georgia also extending an offer earlier this month. Toodle last visited Florida State in April 2023, and the staff will likely push to bring him back for another visit soon.
As a junior at Cottage Hill Christian Academy, Toodle made a significant impact on both sides of the ball. He recorded 157 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, two sacks, and an interception on defense, while also contributing 297 rushing yards and three touchdowns on offense, along with 15 receptions for 197 yards. He had nine games with double-digit tackles, including three where he reached 20. In an August 23 game against Washington County High School, he notched 20 tackles and four tackles for loss.
Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 210 pounds, Toodle is ranked No. 74 overall, the No. 5 linebacker, and the No. 5 prospect in Alabama for the 2026 class, according to 247Sports. Florida State currently has six verbal commitments in its 2026 class, which ranks No. 10 nationally, though the Seminoles have yet to secure a linebacker.
