Breakings News: Bills sign 2 Veteran Star To 1-Year Contract.

The Buffalo Bills have signed quarterback  to a one-year contract and tight end Zach Davidson to a future contract, continuing their trend of adding players to their roster following the 2024 season. This move is part of a broader effort to bring back 12 players on reserve/future contracts, just days after the end of the season.

Buechele, who initially joined the Bills’ practice squad in August 2023 and signed a reserve/futures contract last January, was a fourth-year quarterback drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021. He was part of their Super Bowl LVII-winning team in 2022 but suffered a neck injury during the preseason that kept him sidelined for the entire 2024 season. Now 27, Buechele will try again with the Bills, despite never having played in a regular-season NFL game.

The Bills now have four quarterbacks on the roster, including Josh Allen, Mitch Trubisky (who is under contract through 2026), and Mike White, who was signed for the 2025 season. The team will have to decide whether to keep all four quarterbacks or make a change before the 2025 season begins.

Davidson, 26, has spent two seasons with the Bills and was placed on injured reserve in 2023 due to a knee injury. He was elevated from the practice squad in 2024 for three games, catching one pass for five yards and contributing on special teams. Buechele and Davidson are the latest players to be signed to future contracts, joining nine other practice squad members and offensive tackle Ryan Van Demark, who was re-signed to a one-year contract earlier this week.
