Copper Flagg Sends Strong Message to Nate Ament Amid Duke Blue Devils Commitment Buzz
The recruitment of five-star forward Nate Ament has taken center stage in college basketball circles, and Duke Blue Devils commit Copper Flagg has made it clear where he hopes Ament will land. Flagg, a top-tier prospect himself and a vocal leader in Duke’s recruiting efforts, recently took to social media with a strong message for Ament, encouraging him to join the nation’s top-ranked 2025 recruiting class in Durham.
“Come make history with us,” Flagg posted, tagging Ament alongside a photo of Duke’s current five-star commitments and the iconic Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Highland School (Va.) standout has already shown strong interest in Duke, having visited the campus multiple times, including trips for Countdown to Craziness in October and an earlier visit in September 2023. Ament is set to return to Durham for Duke’s February 1 showdown against UNC.
Flagg’s pitch reflects the growing momentum around Duke’s recruiting class, which already includes commitments from Shelton Henderson, Nik Khamenia, and the Boozer twins, Cayden and Cameron. Adding Ament, ranked No. 4 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, would solidify Duke’s standing as the dominant force in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
Ament, who is also considering Kansas State, Kentucky, and several other top programs, has hinted at making his decision by February or March. In a recent interview, he emphasized the importance of finding a program that values his ability to play through mistakes and offers a clear path for growth.
With Copper Flagg leading the charge, the Duke faithful are hopeful that Ament will soon be joining the Blue Devils family. As decision day approaches, the buzz surrounding Ament’s recruitment only continues to grow, with Durham looking more and more like his potential home.
