Duke Basketball Target Nate Ament Discusses Decision Timeline
Five-star recruit Nate Ament plans to make one final visit to Duke basketball before announcing his college decision. The Highland School (Va.) senior forward, ranked No. 4 overall in the 247Sports 2025 Composite, has included Duke in his top 11 schools alongside Louisville, Arkansas, Kansas State, Georgetown, Texas, Notre Dame, Tennessee, Kentucky, BYU, and Alabama.
Ament has already visited Duke multiple times, including a trip for Countdown to Craziness in October and his first campus tour in September 2023. He’s set to return to Durham on February 1 for the Blue Devils’ home game against UNC. Additionally, he will visit Kansas State for its February 11 matchup against Arizona before making his decision.
In an interview with 247Sports’ Dushawn London, Ament revealed that he aims to finalize his choice by February or March. “I have Duke and Kansas State left, and I might squeeze in one more visit before I decide,” Ament said. “I want to make sure I make the right decision and see how everything plays out. I’ll consider schools I haven’t visited and see where I’m most needed.”
Duke head coach Jon Scheyer and his staff have already secured the top-ranked 2025 recruiting class, featuring commitments from Shelton Henderson (Texas), Nik Khamenia (California), and twin brothers Cayden and Cameron Boozer (Florida), all five-star prospects.
