Clemson Gymnastics Defeats Pitt, Secures First ACC Win

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Clemson gymnastics achieved its first ACC win of the season with a narrow victory over Pitt, scoring 195.500 to Pitt’s 195.100. The Tigers showcased season-best performances on both vault and beam, including a standout 9.850 from Sierra Church on beam, their highest individual score of the season.

Bars
Clemson started the competition on bars, with Takoda Berry earning a career-high 9.825, the top score of the rotation. Eve Jackson contributed a solid 9.750, while Rebecca Wells and Quinn Kuhl added 9.700 and 9.750, respectively. After the first rotation, the Tigers trailed slightly, 48.825 to 48.875.

Vault
The Tigers surged ahead during the vault rotation, led by Trinity Brown and Maggie Holman, who each scored 9.825. Quinn Kuhl added a 9.800, and Tara Walsh earned a 9.750 with her Yurchenko Full. At the meet’s midpoint, Clemson led 97.850 to 97.525.

Floor
On the floor exercise, Clemson maintained its lead with strong performances from Eve Jackson and Brie Clark, both scoring 9.775. Other contributors included Trinity Brown and Madison Minner, each earning 9.750. The Tigers entered the final rotation with a slight edge, 146.500 to 146.325.

Beam
Clemson sealed the victory on beam, highlighted by Sierra Church’s impressive 9.850. Danika Nielsen added a 9.800, while Quinn Kuhl closed the night with a 9.825. The Tigers finished with a 48.950 on beam, securing their first ACC win of the season.

Next, Clemson continues its season-opening road trip with a meet against new ACC member Cal on Sunday, January 26, at 5:00 p.m. (ET).
