Former Auburn quarterback transfers to Texas State
All three 2024 Auburn quarterbacks who entered the transfer portal have now secured new teams.
On Tuesday, Holden Geriner announced to On3 that he is transferring to Texas State. Geriner, who spent three seasons at Auburn without earning a starting role, completed 9 of 20 passes for 116 yards and one interception during his time with the Tigers. In the 2024 season, he appeared in two games, playing late in matchups against Alabama A&M and New Mexico. Notably, this marks the second time an Auburn quarterback has transferred to Texas State, following TJ Finley’s move after the 2022 season. Finley thrived at Texas State, throwing for a career-best 3,439 yards and 24 touchdowns in his lone season.
Auburn has since rebuilt its quarterback roster by acquiring Jackson Arnold and Ashton Daniels through the transfer portal and signing five-star freshman Deuce Knight. Additionally, the Tigers recently added Tanner Bailey, a former South Carolina quarterback who had previously stepped away from football.
