Kansas State Wildcats secure Alabama transfer Jayshawn Ross
Chris Klieman and the Kansas State Wildcats have landed a key addition in Jayshawn Ross, a talented linebacker transferring from Alabama. Although Ross initially chose the Crimson Tide over K-State as a high school recruit out of Liberty North, he’s now set to join the Wildcats.
Ross, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound defender, brings versatility to the K-State defense. He’s expected to play a hybrid role, contributing as both a defensive end and linebacker, particularly as a pass rusher. Wildcats defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman will likely utilize Ross’s skill set in various ways when he arrives on campus.
The Wildcats were already familiar with Ross’s talent, having pursued him heavily as a four-star prospect in high school. Though he didn’t see game action during his freshman season at Alabama, Ross was a priority target for Klieman and his staff during their exploration of the transfer portal.
With Ross’s commitment, K-State gains a dynamic player capable of strengthening its defensive lineup.
