Former Clemson DT Tre Williams Transfers to Michigan

Tre Williams, a former Clemson defensive lineman, has found a new opportunity with the Michigan Wolverines. After spending five seasons with Clemson, the graduate senior is heading north to continue his college football career.

Williams’ time at Clemson was hampered by injuries, particularly during the 2023 season when he was sidelined for most of the year due to a shoulder injury and received a medical redshirt. He appeared in just five games that season, recording one tackle.

Across his five years at Clemson, Williams played in 44 games, amassing 35 tackles, including 18 solo stops, 10 tackles for loss, and four sacks.

A highly regarded recruit out of high school, Williams was rated as a four-star prospect by 247Sports. He held a .95 composite rating, ranking as the No. 94 player nationally, the No. 11 defensive tackle, and the No. 3 recruit from the Washington, D.C., area.

As a transfer, Williams’ rating has slightly decreased to 90, but he remains a four-star prospect and is expected to bring valuable experience and talent to Michigan’s defensive line.
