Clemson QB Cade Klubnik Confirms Return for 2025 Season
Clemson quarterbackClemson Tigers has officially announced he will return for the 2025 college football season, setting up the Tigers as a potential preseason top-10 team next fall. Klubnik, who delivered a standout performance in the College Football Playoff against Texas in his hometown of Austin, Texas, had sparked speculation about entering the NFL Draft after his 336-yard, three-touchdown game.
On Monday, Klubnik put those rumors to rest with a social media post on X. Sharing highlights from his impressive 2024 campaign, he captioned the post: “The story isn’t over. See y’all in 2025.”
This news, though widely anticipated, is a significant boost for Clemson. With Klubnik under center, the Tigers appear well-positioned for another strong season. In addition to the star quarterback, Clemson could return seven offensive starters and eight defensive starters from the playoff game against Texas. They will also welcome a top-30 recruiting class to address any roster gaps.
Klubnik’s junior season was a breakthrough, as he threw for 3,639 yards, 36 touchdowns, and just six interceptions, while adding 463 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. These numbers marked a major improvement from his 2023 campaign, where he threw for 2,844 yards, 19 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in his first year as Clemson’s starter.
Many believe Klubnik’s return positions him as a leading Heisman Trophy contender and Clemson as a serious College Football Playoff threat in 2025. With the program aiming to improve on its 2024 postseason run, all eyes will be on Klubnik to see how far he can lead the Tigers in his senior year.
