Ewers delivered a solid performance, throwing for 202 yards and one touchdown while completing 17 of 24 pass attempts.
Following the game, Ewers shared a photo on social media with Texas superfan and actor Matthew McConaughey. McConaughey was also spotted mingling with Texas icons Vince Young and head coach Steve Sarkisian.
Born in Uvalde, Texas, McConaughey attended the University of Texas from 1989 to 1993, earning a bachelor’s degree in science before launching his acting career. The 55-year-old is renowned for his roles in The Wolf of Wall Street, Free State of Jones, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, and The Wedding Planner.
Ewers now shifts focus to Texas’ next opponent, the Arizona State Sun Devils, in the quarterfinals. The Longhorns will face off against the Sun Devils on Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. ET as they continue their pursuit of a national championship.
