LSU Football Bolsters Offensive Line with Virginia Tech Transfer
LSU has made a key addition to its offensive line, bringing in an experienced player from the transfer portal as the Tigers work to rebuild their front line.
Braelin Moore, a Virginia Tech offensive lineman, announced on social media Saturday that he is transferring to LSU. Moore, a redshirt junior, has two years of eligibility remaining.
This marks LSU’s 13th transfer portal acquisition this offseason and the first for the offensive line. Moore brings significant experience, having started 24 consecutive games for Virginia Tech over the past two seasons, playing both guard and center. The 6-foot-3, 303-pound lineman was originally a three-star recruit from Freedom High in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where he played both guard and defensive end. After redshirting his freshman year, Moore secured a starting role in his second season.
The Tigers face the challenge of replacing four starting offensive linemen. Junior tackles Will Campbell and Emery Jones declared for the NFL Draft, while senior guards Garrett Dellinger and Miles Frazier completed their eligibility. The lone returning starter is redshirt freshman DJ Chester, who endured some struggles as a first-year center.
Although LSU has signed several highly ranked offensive line prospects in recent years, the group lacks experience. Aside from Chester, only redshirt freshmen Tyree Adams and Paul Mubenga have starting experience. Moore’s arrival provides a much-needed veteran presence as LSU looks to reestablish its offensive front for the upcoming season.
