DONE DEAL: Flyers signs another mega deal.

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed Jacob Gaucher, a 23-year-old center, to a two-year entry-level contract. Gaucher began his professional hockey career in the 2022-23 season with the Flyers’ ECHL affiliate, the Reading Royals. Over the past two seasons, he has spent most of his time with the team’s AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, where he has developed into a key player.

This season, Gaucher has been a standout performer for the Phantoms, leading the team with 10 goals in 23 games. In addition to his scoring, he has contributed five assists and recorded 56 shots on goal, showcasing his offensive ability. Last season, Gaucher tallied 16 points (8 goals, 8 assists) in 59 games and added two points (1 goal, 1 assist) during the Phantoms’ playoff run, proving his consistency and reliability.

At 6-foot-3 and 185 pounds, Gaucher brings size and physical presence to the ice, qualities that complement his skill set. He has demonstrated his ability to win faceoffs, a critical asset for any center. During this year’s rookie games in September, he registered two assists and also appeared in four preseason games for the Flyers, giving the organization a closer look at his potential.

Gaucher’s performance this season solidifies his role as a cornerstone player for Lehigh Valley, where he has been instrumental in the team’s success. While his primary focus remains with the Phantoms, his size, skills, and work ethic position him as a strong candidate for a potential NHL call-up. His contributions have not gone unnoticed, and he could provide depth for the Flyers if needed later in the season.
