Dolphins Edge Rusher Bradley Chubb Set to Return to Practice
The Miami Dolphins are getting a boost to their defense as two-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Bradley Chubb and teammate Cameron Goode are set to return to practice this week. Coach Mike McDaniel confirmed the news, marking the first time either player has practiced since suffering injuries that ended their 2023 seasons prematurely.
Chubb, who was acquired in a midseason trade in 2022, had been performing at a high level before tearing his ACL in late 2023 during a loss to the Baltimore Ravens. His season included career highs in forced fumbles (six), tackles (73), and quarterback hits (22). Over his career, Chubb has accumulated 39.5 sacks, 13 forced fumbles, and more than 250 combined tackles.
Cameron Goode, primarily a special teams contributor, ruptured his patella tendon in the final game of the 2023 season and has been sidelined ever since.
The return of Chubb, in particular, is expected to have a significant impact on both the Dolphins’ defense and rookie edge rusher Chop Robinson, who has credited Chubb as a mentor. Robinson described Chubb and other teammates as instrumental in his development, stating, “They put me under their wing, and I’m learning from the best.”

Defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver highlighted Chubb’s influence on Robinson, praising the rookie for absorbing advice and applying it effectively on the field.
The Dolphins, currently 5-7, face an uphill battle to make the playoffs but benefit from having one of the NFL’s easiest remaining schedules. With Chubb’s return, the team is hopeful for a late-season surge to keep their postseason hopes alive.
