BREAKING NEWS: Clemson Fans reacts to Dabo Swinney as veteran star shocks club with decommitment over rivals.

Clemson Fans Frustrated with Dabo Swinney as 4-Star Commit Considers Flip

The 2025 college football recruiting season is nearing its early signing period, but the final stretch hasn’t been kind to Clemson. Since August, five top-100 recruits have decommitted, and now, 4-star safety Tae Harris from Georgia is rumored to be flipping his commitment from Clemson to Georgia Tech.

Harris, the No. 48 player overall and the third-ranked safety in the nation according to 247Sports composite rankings, is currently the top defensive back in Clemson’s recruiting class. However, his recent post on social media, tagged with “#TaetoTech,” hints at a possible change, leaving many Clemson fans disappointed.

The potential loss of Harris has amplified frustration among Clemson supporters, many of whom direct their anger toward head coach Dabo Swinney. Critics argue that Swinney’s reluctance to embrace Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals and the transfer portal—a shift that has redefined college football—has hindered Clemson’s recruiting efforts.

As of now, Clemson’s recruiting class ranks 17th nationally and second in the ACC, behind Miami. Despite being a strong position, the program’s recent losses have fueled concerns. Swinney’s steadfast approach to recruiting, resisting NIL opportunities and transfers, has sparked debates about whether this strategy is sustainable in the modern landscape.

If Harris officially commits to Georgia Tech, it would mark the sixth major loss for Clemson’s 2025 class, which is now down to just 17 recruits. Fans are urging Swinney to adapt to contemporary practices to maintain the program’s competitiveness, but his resistance suggests continued tension between the coach and the fanbase.
