In Week 11, the Buffalo Bills aim to end the Kansas City Chiefs’ undefeated streak, which stretches back to last Christmas. A victory would mark Buffalo’s fourth consecutive regular-season win over the reigning Super Bowl champions.
However, defeating Kansas City won’t be easy. The Chiefs feature a top-tier roster led by one of the most successful quarterback-coach duos in NFL history, and star tight end Travis Kelce has recently returned to his elite form. To prevail, the Bills must target the Chiefs’ few weaknesses, with injuries and limited experience being key areas that could tip the balance in Buffalo’s favor.
1. Left Tackle Issues
One of the Chiefs’ most prominent challenges lies at the left tackle position, which they have tried to reinforce in the past two drafts. They selected Wanya Morris with the 92nd pick in 2023 and followed up by drafting Kingsley Suamataia 63rd overall in 2024.
Despite these efforts, neither player has developed into a reliable starter, and both remain inexperienced, with only 13 combined starts over the last season and a half. Morris has shown more promise but has struggled with persistent knee issues this season and missed part of the Chiefs’ Week 10 win over the Denver Broncos. When Suamataia stepped in to replace him, he struggled against edge rushers, even when supported by chip blocks from running backs or tight ends.
The Chiefs allowed four sacks in their game against Denver, and an additional sack by linebacker Nik Bonitto was negated by an illegal contact penalty.
The Bills, who signed Von Miller in free agency and selected Greg Rousseau and A.J. Epenesa in consecutive drafts, did so with a clear goal: to pressure Patrick Mahomes. On Sunday, Buffalo’s pass rushers will have a prime chance to exploit the Chiefs’ difficulties at left tackle, whether it’s Morris or Suamataia, and create disruption in the backfield.
