Dodgers Sign Three-Time Silver Slugger Winner to $54M Deal
The Dodgers are sign three-time Silver Slugger outfielder Teoscar Hernández to a $54 million deal. Last winter, Hernández opted for a one-year, $23.5 million contract with Los Angeles instead of a longer commitment, and the decision paid off. He captured his third Silver Slugger Award and helped the Dodgers secure a World Series title.
Now back on the market, Hernández has shown his value, hitting .272/.340/.501 with 33 home runs, 99 RBIs, and 84 runs over 652 plate appearances, earning his second career All-Star selection. His contribution as a power hitter and clubhouse mentor makes him a top priority for the Dodgers, with General Manager Brandon Gomes expressing strong interest in a reunion. Bleacher Report’s Tim Kelly forecasts a three-year, $54 million deal, slightly below Spotrac’s market projection of $71 million. While Hernández could pursue a higher offer from other teams, he may accept a slight discount to remain in Los Angeles.
