Josh Allen is on the verge of making franchise history in Week 10 against the Colts. The Buffalo Bills quarterback is at a pivotal point in his career, with the opportunity to make his mark in both the team’s record books and potentially the NFL’s. Since 2020, Allen has consistently played at an elite level, often competing alongside top quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson.
Through nine games this season, Allen has accounted for 20 total touchdowns and just two interceptions—an impressive turnaround after a rough 2023 in which he threw 18 interceptions. This improvement has been a key reason why the Bills are currently 7-2. In fact, Allen’s first interception this season didn’t come until Week 8 against Seattle, and the interception he threw last week against Miami wasn’t his fault, as it was tipped by Keon Coleman into the hands of Jalen Ramsey.
Heading into Week 10 against the Indianapolis Colts, Allen not only aims to push the Bills to an 8-2 record but also has the chance to break Jim Kelly’s franchise record for total touchdowns. Kelly holds the record with 244 total touchdowns, while Allen currently has 241. It’s not a matter of *if* Allen will pass Kelly, but *when*, and this could be the game where he does.
Allen has the potential to be remembered as the greatest quarterback in Buffalo Bills history. While he is already considered one of the most talented quarterbacks the team has ever had, his legacy will be fully cemented if he can lead the Bills to their first-ever Super Bowl title. Jim Kelly, despite his success in taking the Bills to four consecutive Super Bowls, was never able to secure a championship. If Allen can deliver a Super Bowl win, he would unquestionably be regarded as the best quarterback in franchise history.
